Um videoclip para todos os que quiseram um dia ser uma estrela de rock. Foi realizado através da mistura de miniaturas e projecções. A música foi escrita pelo cantor britânico “Paperface” e executada por uma orquestra ao vivo.
A music video about anyone who ever wanted to be a Rockstar. It was made completely by hand using only miniatures and projections. The song was written by British singer-songwriter Paperface, and features a live orchestra.

Sou um desenhador gráfico chileno especializado em realização de animação. Nos últimos dez anos trabalhei como designer e animador em televisão, cinema, web e projecções de grande formato em diferentes agências. Desde 2006 vivo em Berlim.
I am a Chilean graphic designer specialized in directing and creating animations. In the last 10 years I have worked as a designer and animator in television, film, the web, and large-format projections for different agencies. Since 2006 I have lived in Berlin.

Nascido em Lisboa em 27-05-1978, começa a estudar em 2005 Cinema e Video na ETIC. No mesmo ano frequenta o curso de Profissional de Audiovisuais na Restart. Em 2008 frequenta a licenciatura de cinema na Universidade Lusófona. Na Universidade realizou diversas curtas-metragens entre as quais “A Camisola Mágica” (2009), “Para lá da linha” (2009) e “Libertação” (2010).

O documentário “Bárbaras Cenas” mostra a história do que se tornou o maior hospital psiquiátrico do Brasil, o Hospital Colônia, localizado em Barbacena (MG). No local, foram registrados cenários de abandono e maus tratos que deixaram milhares de vítimas. Um dos entrevistados é o psiquiatra Antônio Soares Simone, que trouxe na década de 70, em visita ao Brasil, o psiquiatra italiano Franco Basaglia para conhecer o Hospital Colônia. O médico italiano comparou o hospital psiquiátrico a um campo de concentração nazista. Outros profissionais como, ex-pacientes e ex-funcionários do local também estão presentes no vídeo.
O documentário é testemunhal e discute a ida de inúmeras pessoas para o Hospital psiquiátrico sem terem nenhum problema mental. Lá, eram submetidos ao eletrochoque. Segundo estudos de especialistas, mais de 60 mil pessoas morreram no local. O vídeo aborda também, além da venda dos corpos para Universidades de medicina, a evolução no tratamento psiquiátrico de Barbacena.

Esta selva encontra-se num local remoto que mais parece um limbo – uma zona de ninguém, presa entre o mar e a terra. É neste ambiente desértico, sujo e fabril que as personagens se movem: umas à procura de presas, outras, tentando escapar aos seus predadores.

According to Catalina, if you want to see things clearly you need to close your eyes. The girl wanders across a vast salt lake under the blazing sun. According to her grandmother, the lake is made up of the dried tears of storytellers, for, in order for the sun to shine, a story must be sacrificed every day to the sun god Tata Inti. This is what the legend demands. Here in the highlands among llamas and cacti, Catalina is especially close to the sun. Her grandmother has already handed down an incredible number of stories to her and she must remember them all because, when her grandmother dies, it will be Catalina’s turn. She is at one with the sun – and she has much to tell it.
Anna Paula Hönig is born in 1981 as the daughter of a German mother and an Argentinean father in Berlin. After finishing her studies in International Relations at the Sorbonne in Paris and King's College in London, she begins to work as a journalist for the Deutsche Welle. In addition she has been working in the “Deutsche Welle Academy” to train Latin American journalists. She also worked for ARTE France in several documentaries. During all this time, her desire to get to know her father's country is always present. In 2010 she starts studying at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. Here she directs her first short film "Helena´s colors", which is about the dark past of the Argentine military dictatorship and is shown at numerous international film festivals. “Catalina And The Sun” is her graduation film.

Patrick Vollrath was born in 1985 and raised in a small town in Central Germany. 2005 to 2008 Film and Video Training at ARRI Film & TV in Munich, Germany. He started his career as an editor. From 2008 to 2015 Bachelor Film Studies in Directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts - Film Academy Vienna in the class of Academy Award and two times Palme D‘Or winner Michael Haneke. Patrick Vollrath has won several national and international prizes for his works. 2011 and 2013 he went to Cannes to be a participant of the Cannes Young Lions Competition. In 2013 he was a participant of the Berlinale Talent Campus.

SOBRE PETEUL MATHIEU
Born in Strasbourg, France (1980). Graduated from ESRA film school of Paris in 2001. In 2007, he shot ULTIMATE SUPER 8 in Geneva, a militant short film that follows a filmmaker who prefers to shoot with film rather than digital images, in a media landscape saturated by digital (multiplication of TV channels, information, constant flow of advertising). In Norway, he co-produced and co-directed with César Ducasse his first feature film : DARK SOULS (MØRKE SJELER), a film that criticizes the dependence of our post-industrial society on oil. It was a long and painful production that was shot over a three-years-period, and was selected in more than 40 international festivals. Winner of 7 awards, DARK SOULS returned to Norway where it was released in theaters in January 2011. The film has been released in DVD and Blu -ray in the following countries : Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, The United States and France. After this relative success, Mathieu has decided to produce his next film in France: RUINS OF TIME, a film influenced by David Lynch, David Cronenberg and Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Forced to give up his dream of playing music due to his advancing hearing loss, musician must reinvent his future. A painter who lost half her brain in a boxing match searches for her place in life unsure of what she should be to the world. The film attempts to ask what it takes for someone to keep on going in times of uncertainty, and uses unique film form to produce the answers.

Un millón de personas se suicidan al año en todo el mundo. Una cifra terrible que, sin embargo, apenas se ve reflejada en los medios de comunicación. Las familias y amigos de los que se quitaron sus vidas viven su dolor en soledad, casi clandestinamente, rodeados por el estigma y los sentimientos de culpa y vergüenza. “Es como si fuera algo muy íntimo tuyo, es como si fuera un secreto que no te hace falta que sepa nadie”. One million people around the world commit suicide each year. A terrible figure barely reflected in the media however. Families and friends of those who ended with their lives live their pain in loneliness, surrounded by stigma and feelings of guilt and shame. “It’s something very intimate, a secret you don’t want anybody to know about”. Survivors is a documentary in which the voices of relatives of people who committed suicide and of those who failed in their attempts rise against the taboo that still surrounds suicide.

The Lost Mariner is an animated interpretation of Dr. Oliver Sacks’ case study found in his book The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. It uses photographs to visualize the rare memory condition of patient Jimmie G.
Tess Martin is an independent animator who works with cut-outs, ink, paint, sand or objects. Her most recent award-winning films are The Lost Mariner, an animated interpretation of an Oliver Sacks case study, and Mario, a paint on glass film based on an Italian folk song. Her films have displayed at galleries and festivals worldwide.
She curates touring programs of films from Seattle and the Northwest and runs a monthly animation event in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She also occasionally writes about the world of independent animation.

Part sci-fi fantasy, part cautionary tale, this is an important piece for the current political landscape.

"Warm snow" is an animation short about the relationship between a father and his grown up daughter. It starts out in an ordinary situation with the father and daughter sitting at the kitchen table. The daughter is waiting for her food to get warm and is annoyed by her father's questions and suggestions. The situation then develops and transforms into a surrealistic world full of love and pain.

A man drives through a deserted landscape. Suddenly his car hits a person, seriously hurting or even killing him. The driver searches for the body, cannot find it - and must accept that there is no one. Instead, he does find blood on the broken windshield. What happens when realizing that we kill - without being confronted with the dead?
ABOUT JAN ZABEIL
Jan Zabeil was born 1981 in Berlin, Germany. He studied Cinematography at the University of Film and Television in Potsdam (HFF/B) from 2003 to 2009. His debut feature as director „The River Used To Be A Man“ won several awards at international film festivals (e.g. „Best New Director – San Sebastian IFF 2011“, „Best Cinematography, German Critics Association 2013“) was screened at art institutions (e.g. MoMA – NYC 2012, National Cinemateque Mexico), as well as distributed to cinemas in Germany, Spain and Mexico.

Ambos os filmes “ Poesia da Cal” e “Limosine da Cal” são como uma aula sobre a caiação e a cal, onde o Leif regista de uma forma poética e experimental o trabalho e a tradição da cal aliados à sua experiencia de multiartista onde a música e a pintura tem um papel fundamental.
A Sofia tem 30 anos de experiência em caiação e fala das “caiadeiras”, mulheres que iam de biciclete de casa em casa mantendo o ritual da caiação e com quem ela aprendeu.
A ideia do filme surgui um dia em que o Leif viu a Sofia a caiar, pegou na câmera e começou a registar imagens. À noite ao verem as essas imagens decidiram que iam mesmo fazer uma homenagem às “caiadeiras”.
“Eu tentei acompanhar a Sofia no trabalho da caiação, desde as coisas pequenas às grandes, do abrir da cal, ao tapar dos buracos, do caiar em branco à utilização de pigmentos. E com certeza vocês vão ficar com uma ideia de como é que este trabalho deve ser feito e através das nossas conversas...eu na minha ignorância faço muitas perguntas, saber sobre a tradição da caiação.”
Se estão interessados em ver um filme sobre um trabalho tradicional em prática e se gostam de ver uma perspectiva artistica sem objectivos de perfecionismo, estes são filmes a ver ! Este dois filmes são feitos com muito amor e afecto a todos os níveis. Ser “caiadeira” também tem a ver com escolher viver com dignidade.
